Mikhail Pashnin

Mikhail Valeryevich Paschnin (Russian: Михаил Валерьевич Пашнин; born May 11, 1989 in Chelyabinsk, Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who plays since 2012 with Lokomotiv Yaroslavl in the Kontinental Hockey League.

Career

The 1.79 m tall defender played in the 2005/06 season for the first time for the second team of HK Mechel Chelyabinsk in the Russian Perwaja third-rate league. The following year Paschnin was first appointed to the senior team for which he played 44 second division appearances in that season. Until his move to Moscow in the summer of 2009, he belonged to the tribe of the HK squad Mechel.

When KHL Junior Draft 2009, the defender was selected as the top pick of the event from HK CSKA Moscow, which thus secured the rights to him for the Russian transfer market. A few weeks later he was elected the New York Rangers in the seventh round of the NHL Entry Draft in 2009 to 200th place out of which thus secured the transfer of rights for North America.

After moving to CSKA Paschnin quickly established himself in the first team of the club, but also received some applications in the Molodjoschnaja Hockey League. In 2011 he won with the Krasnaya Armia the championship trophy of the MHL, the Kharlamov Cup.

In January 2012 Paschnin signed a one year contract for the 2012/13 season with Lokomotiv Yaroslavl.

Internationally

With the Russian U20 national Mikhail Paschnin won the bronze medal at the Junior World Championship in 2009. In a total of seven world missions, the Russian was able to achieve two assists.
