Míšov

Misov ( German Mischau ) is a municipality with 109 inhabitants in the Czech Republic. It is located nine kilometers east of Spálené Poříčí in Brdywald and belongs to Okres Plzeň -jih. The land area is 765 ha

Geography

Misov is located 620 m above sea level. M. Bily Potok on the western part of Brdywaldes. By lying on a glade place leads the state road 19 between Pilsen and Rožmitál pod Třemšínem.

In the north Misov is surrounded by the grounds of the military training area Brd. There are also three kilometers to the northeast, the two Paderter ponds ( Padrťské rybníky ) and the ruins of the Benedictine monastery Teslíny. To the south lie the mountains Nad Maraskem ( 800 m) and the Kobylí hlava ( 756 m) with the ruins stallion. Neighboring towns are Teslíny in the east, Planiny the southwest, Borovno and Dolni Borovno in the west and Číčov and Hořice in the northwest.

History

The first mention of Misov, which was created by the Rosental valley in the course of colonization of Brdywaldes, dates from the year 1349. During the Hussite Wars, the village was destroyed and abandoned.

Repopulation of Misov took place after the establishment of a glassworks at the end of the 17th century as a settlement for the ironworkers. At the beginning of the 18th century built Count Václav Hynek Vratislav z Mitrovic the manor BElohrad at the northern end of Misov.

Misov grew rapidly and there was a top and a lower village. 1788 the settlement consisted of 26 houses where 257 people lived. 1843, the village had already 322 inhabitants and the number of houses had increased to 40.
