Miss Universe Latvia
Miss Latvia is a national beauty pageant for unmarried women in Latvia. In Germany it is called Mis Latvija, but also the English name Miss Latvia is in use. It is organized by Inta Fogele and her agency Mis Latvija 1988. At the final round take part the winners of the primaries from about 20 cities across the country. These primaries are held with government and community facilities in close cooperation.
At the same event and the Mister Latvia is selected. The country's government is supporting the competition by funding the licenses for the participation in the competitions to Miss World and Mister World to promote the international image of the country.
Another company, SIA Bravo Productions ( founded in 2002 ), since 2005 determines the Latvian representatives for Miss Universe, namely Miss Universe ® Latvia.
