Geography
Monona is located in south central Wisconsin, in the southern suburban area of the capital, Madison. The city lies between the southeastern shore of Lake Monona and the north shore of Upper Mud Lake, and on both sides of both lakes connected Yahara River, a tributary of the opening into the Mississippi River in the neighboring state of Illinois Rock River. Located on the Mississippi intersection of the three states of Wisconsin, Iowa and Illinois is located 150 km west-southwest.
