History

After completion of the Reconquista in Portugal, the Portuguese branch received the Order of Calatrava, who later became Knight Order of Avis, the area in 1211 for colonization. Mora received 1519 first town charter by King Manuel I..

Traffic

Until the route closure in 1988 the site was connected through the railway Ramal de Mora to the rail network in the country. In the former railway lines bike trails are now created.

The N2 national road leading from Mora about 40 km south to the motorway A6 at Montemor -o- Novo. About the Mora also passing national road N251 the place with the 35 km eastern Vimieiro and about 40 km west location Coruche is connected, both located on the N4.
