Mueang Trang District

Amphoe Mueang Trang ( Thai: อำเภอ เมือง ตรัง ) is a district ( Amphoe ) in the province of Trang in the far south of Thailand. The capital of the district of Mueang Trang Trang is also called.

Geography

Trang Trang is situated on Maenam about 20 km from the Indian Ocean. The environment shows up as gently rolling hills with endless rubber plantations.

Neighboring districts (from the south clockwise): Amphoe Na Yong who, Yan Ta Khao, Kantang Sikao, Wang Huai Yot and Wiset Trang province and Amphoe Si Banphot Phatthalung Province.

Education

In Amphoe Mueang Trang is a side campus of Prince of Songkla University.

Management

Amphoe Mueang Trang is in 15 communes ( tambon) divided, further in 118 villages ( Muban ) are divided.

The large ( thesaban Nakhon ) Trang encompasses the entire tambon Thap Thiang.

The small town ( thesaban tambon) Khlong Teng consists of parts of the Tambon Na Tham Nuea.

There are also 14 " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
