Nordschwarzwaldturm

The transmitter Lange Brand is a 143 meter high radio and radio tower of Deutsche Telekom AG in Schömberger district Lange fire in the district of Calw. It was built in 1964 and has three platforms in 42 meters, 51 meters and 81 meters in height. The steel truss structure is 126.8 meters high, followed by a 16 meter high cylinder (GRP ) fiberglass-reinforced plastic, which contains the TV antenna. The facility is not open to the public.

This station provides much of the northern Black Forest with television and FM radio programs. The first television station went on 5 September 1964, the ZDF in operation, it was followed by 1966, the SDR as a lodger with a transmitter for the first television program. In 1969, the Third TV went on the air. Since 1974, use of the SDR (today SWR ) the location also for radio distribution. Since 5 November 2008 broadcast by digital television here (DVB- T ), for which the tip of the antenna (GfK - cylinder) has been replaced.
