Nová Ves (Plzeň-South District)

Nová Ves ( German Neudorf ) is a municipality with 219 inhabitants in the Czech Republic. It is located 10 kilometers southwest of the center of Pilsen, Plzeň -jih Okres belongs to. The land area is 400 hectares.

Geography

The place on the outskirts of Plzen is 347 m above sea level. M. Pilsener in hill country. History

The first mention of Nová Ves on January 25, 1591 base register of the monastery Chotěšov. During the 17th century the pure farming village grew from three to 22 economies in 1670. The inhabitants were exclusively German.

After the discovery of a coal camp in 1870 a bill was operated. The coal trade union built a housing development for their workers. The mining industry also changed the population structure in the village, and the Czech miner families presented soon the majority of the population. 1887, the village school opened.

In 1927, the construction of the village street, with also the swampy pond in the center was eliminated. 1951 was a large part of the agricultural land over to the army, which was built west of the village is a military area. Since 1989, the place is self-employed.
