Nuea Khlong District

Amphoe Khlong Nuea ( Thai: อำเภอ เหนือ คลอง ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) of Krabi province in the southern region of Thailand.

Geography

Neighboring districts are - from the northwest clockwise - Amphoe Mueang Krabi which, Khao Phanom, Khlong Thom and Koh Lanta, Krabi. To the west lies the Andaman Sea.

History

The sub-district ( King Amphoe ) Nuea Khlong was established on 13 March 1992 by eight Tambon were separated from Amphoe Mueang Krabi. On 5 December 1996, the district got its full Amphoe status.

Traffic

In Amphoe Nuea Khlong Krabi International Airport which connects the province with the rest of the country as well as neighboring countries.

Management

Amphoe Nuea Khlong is divided into eight municipalities ( tambon), which in turn in 56 village communities ( Muban ) are divided.

Nuea Khlong itself has a small-town status ( thesaban tambon), it consists of parts of the tambon Nuea Khlong.

Each tambon is a Tambon Administrative Organization ( TAO ) manages, which are responsible for the areas that are not organized in the cities.
