O'Brien Trophy

The O'Brien Trophy was an ice hockey trophy, which was awarded in the National Hockey League from 1910 to 1950. It was donated by Canadian Senator J. O'Brien and named after his son J. Ambrose O'Brien. From 1910 the trophy to the winner of the NHA ( National Hockey Association), a precursor of the League NHL was awarded. From 1924 to 1927, the trophy was not awarded, but then ( as a counterpart to the Prince of Wales Trophy, which was awarded the winner of the American Division ) as a trophy for the winner of the Canadian Division reintroduced. ( As the NHL was reunited into a single division) From 1939, a finalist for the Stanley Cup trophy, until it was finally awarded in 1950 for the last time.
