Oops! ... I Did It Again (English for " Oops ... I did it again " ) is a song by American pop singer Britney Spears from her second studio album of the same name Oops! I Did It Again ... from the year 2000. Was released as the first single from the album on 27 March 2000 by Jive Records. Written and produced the song was by Max Martin and Rami Yacoub. The musical style shows many similarities with songs on her debut album ... Baby One More Time in 1999.

Background

Oops! ... I Did It Again was written and produced by Max Martin and Rami Yacoub in August 1999. Martin and Spears had previously collaborated on her debut album ... Baby One More Time. The track was recorded in November 1999 in the Cheiron Studios in Stockholm. The background vocals were sung by Nana Hedin and Max Martin himself.

The song is about someone plays once again with the feelings of others. In a conversation at the end of the song between Spears and a young man is listening to a play on the diamond necklace " The Heart of the Ocean " from the movie Titanic. Spears says to him (the alleged victim of their " game" ) the following after that its an object as a token of love over there, "But I thought the old lady would have thrown it end up in the ocean," he replies, " Yes baby, I was down and had it up brought back for you! " She replies that he does not have need to do.

Reception

Oops! I Did It Again ... similar enjoyed commercial success as her debut single ... Baby One More Time and reached the top position in many countries, including Australia, Canada, New Zealand, UK and continental Europe. The accompanying music video is one of their most famous.

The song received mostly positive reviews and was " Best Female Pop Vocal Performance " nomination at the Grammy Awards 2001 in the category. The song is considered Spears' trademark, both in the media and in public.
