Oppido Lucano
Oppido Lucano is a southern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 3839 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Potenza, in the Basilicata. The community is located about 21 kilometers northeast of Potenza on Monte Montrano and directly borders the province of Matera. Oppido Lucano is part of the Comunità Montana Alto Bradano.
History
The area was settled as early as the 6th century BC. It settled here the Peucetians. Finally, the Lucanians followed.
