Otěšice

Otěšice ( German Adalbert village, Czech sooner or Vojtěšice Útěšice ) is a municipality with 154 inhabitants in the Czech Republic. It is located nine kilometers west of Prestice and belongs to Okres Plzeň -jih. The land area is 557 ha

Geography

The place is located in 396 m above sea level. M. Brook on the left side of the valley of the Biřkovský. Southeast of it rises the 450 m high hill Hájek. To the northwest lies the Merklínský fishpond where the creek Roupovský and Merklínka be stowed

Neighboring towns are Merklín in the north, Horušany in the northeast, Roupov the southeast, Bolkov in the south, southwest, and Kloušov Ptenín in the northwest.

History

The first mention of Otěšice as possession of the monastery of St. George in Prague took place in 1228. Since 1328 the family z Otěšic and from 1385 their line Bohušov z Otěšic detectable as landlords. During this time a property division must be derfolgt, the 1378 also had the Černín Chudenic a part of the place. Other owners belonged from 1427 Jaroslav z Čočovic. 1495 Otěšice was between Jan of Prostiboře who received the festivals, as well as Vilém z Chřínova and Jan Bohuchval z Hrádku to which the farm and the village were divided. Its share united Vilém z Chřínova with Merklín. The festivals fell in the 16th century without form, and then was never mentioned more. Shortly before the Thirty Years War, the dismemberment was terminated and all Otěšice has been connected to the rule Merklín. After the replacement of patrimonial Otěšice in 1850 to autonomous municipality. The manor acquired in the second half of the 19th century Erduard Palffy to Erdöd. 1890, the village had 393 inhabitants, in 1920 there were 445
