Ouargla Province

The Ouargla province or Wargla (Arabic ولاية ورقلة, DMG Wilāyat Warqala ) is a province ( wilaya ) in eastern Algeria.

The province is located in the Sahara and on the east by Tunisia and Libya, it covers an area of ​​230 216 km2.

Around 556,000 people ( 2006 estimate ) live in the province, the population density is thus about 2.5 inhabitants per square kilometer. Parts of the population speak Berber languages ​​like Mzab - Wargla.

The provincial capital is Ouargla ( Wargla ), other well-known cities are Touggourt and Hassi Messaoud.
