The Aeroporto di Parma " Giuseppe Verdi" is the international airport of the Italian city of Parma. It is named after the composer Giuseppe Verdi.
The airport is located close to the city center and is served mainly by Ryanair in the line of traffic.
History
The airport was built in 1923 as a military airfield and destroyed in the Second World War. In the postwar period initially prepared poorly for general aviation, it is used after modifications since 1991 to commercial traffic. He came in late 2010 along with other smaller airports in Italy in the headlines. The civil aviation authority ENAC described it as unprofitable " bonsai airports ".
