Pavel Valentenko

Pavel Alexandrovich Walentenko (Russian Павел Александрович Валентенко; born October 20, 1987 in Nizhnekamsk, Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who is since August 2013 in Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod in the Kontinental Hockey League contract.

Career

Pawel Walentenko began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior department of Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk, for the first team he made his debut was in the 2005/06 season in the Russian Super League, where he remained no points in two games and won two penalty minutes. The majority of the playing time he spent but with the second team of Neftekhimik in the third-class Perwaja league. In the following season, he sat as a regular for Neftekhimik by and prepared in the Super League in 54 games before two goals.

During his time at Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk Walentenko was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2006 in the fifth round as the 139th overall player of the Canadiens de Montréal. For their farm team, he ran on during the 2007/08 season in the American Hockey League. There he also began the following season, after which he returned to his native Russia in the course of the year. There, he signed a contract with HK Dynamo Moscow, but for which he came to the following one and a half years in the Kontinental Hockey League only to a total of 16 missions. From 2010 to 2012, he again played in the American Hockey League, but this time for Connecticut Whale.

For the 2012/13 season Walentenko was obliged by HK Avangard Omsk, where he was a regular player in the KHL right away. In August 2013 he left Omsk again after him the club against | had exchanged Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod [ [ Dmitri Sergeyevich Vorobyov Dmitiri Vorobyov ] ].

Internationally

For Russia Walentenko took part in the U20 World Youth Championship 2007, where he won the silver medal with his team.
