Pioraco
Pioraco is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 1270 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Macerata in the Marche region. The municipality is situated approximately 40 km west-southwest of Macerata at Potenza and belongs to the Comunità montana Old Valli del Potenza e esino.
History
In ancient Roman times the place was called by a lake Prolaqueum. The name Prolacen is handed back to the 7th century.
