Pirates of Galicia

Pirates de Galicia ( PIRATA.GAL, Galician for pirates Galicia ) is a party in the Spanish autonomous region of Galicia. It was founded on December 26, 2011 after the model of the Swedish Piratpartiet and other Pirate Parties officially registered on 26 January 2012. It is committed to the reform of intellectual property laws, for more direct participation opportunities in the political process and the respect of fundamental rights.

In November 2013, the PIRATA.GAL founded the Confederación pirate pirates with other regional parties. This occurs at the European elections in 2014 and participates in the European Pirate Party.

In the elections for the provincial parliament on October 22, 2012 for the first time PIRATA.GAL approached to elections. They ran into two of the four electoral districts, reaching 0.17 % in the constituency Ourense and 0.24 % in the electoral district of Pontevedra.
