Italian Pirate Party

The Partito Pirata Italiano ( PPI) is the Italian Pirate Party. It was officially established on 16 September 2006. Since November 2012 until the next election in 2013, it was represented by two members in the Camera dei deputati.

The PP is run by the permanent members of Assembly, which is realized through the technical platform LiquidFeedback. Legally represents a " bureaucrat " the party outside, this is currently Athos Gualazzi. The party is a founding member of the Pirate Parties International.

History

The founding meeting of the Pirate Party was held in June 2006. The pirates were constituted not as a party but as a political organization. In December 2011, the party was reorganized. In particular, a new constitution was adopted, by which the party is managed directly by the members by Liquid feedback. Management tasks are performed by a bureaucrat and a treasurer.

On October 30, 2012, the member of the Chamber of Deputies Francesco Barbato requested (formerly Vice-Chairman of Italia dei Valori ) accession to the Pirate Party. This was adopted in the course of November. Barbato forms with Giuseppe Vatinno the first group of pirates in a national parliament.

In the European elections in Italy in 2009, the Secretary General of the party, Alessandro Bottoni occurred in the electoral district to the north -east of the Sinistra e Libertà on list. The list reached 3.4 % of the vote and 811 Botoni preferential votes.
