Prádlo

Prádlo ( German Pradl ) is a municipality with 215 inhabitants in the Czech Republic. It is located four kilometers northeast of the town of Nepomuk on the Úslava and belongs to Okres Plzeň -jih. The land area is 830 hectares The place is known for its production of spirits.

Geography

The village is located 452 m above sea level at the foot of the mountain Na Skalici ( 561 m) on the right bank of the Úslava. In the east Prádlo is affected by the European route 49/Staatsstraße 20 from Pilsen to Nepomuk.

Neighboring towns are Mecholupy in the north, Dubeč and the Monastery and to the east, Nepomuk in the southeast, as well as Novotníky, Kokorov and Žinkovy in the West.

History

The first written mention of Prádlo took place in 1552. The place is, however, much older. On the basis of findings from the Middle Ages I were several gold-washings at the Úslava.

The village probably belonged to the possessions of the monastery Pomuk and came to its destruction in 1420, along with most of the villages around the reign Grünberg.

Zdeněk VI. von Sternberg, who had taken control in 1556, sold in 1561 to the village Jiřík Kokořovec z Kokorov on Šťáhlavy. The Kokořovec z Kokorov could build a fortress in Prádlo. After participating in the uprising of the reason Mr. Jan Adam Kokořovec had to pledge his property in 1622.

The Berni rula facing five Häusler and five gardeners for Prádlo. The Kokořovec remained until the second half of the 17th century landlords and before 1675 bought Václav Vojtěch von Sternberg at Castle Grünberg the Gutsherrschaft Prádlo with the corresponding eight villages back.

After the replacement of patrimonial Prádlo in 1850 an independent village. 1857 Prádlo vicarage was after already since 1786 a subsidiary church had existed. 1920, Prádlo 449 inhabitants. In the same year, the renowned spirits producer Stock acquired the distillery on the Guthof. 1944 crashed on Forest House Dubeč from a downed B-24 Liberator of the 15th USAAF J, the pilot came to life.

The former mill was converted in 1990 into a production site for herbal liqueurs of the company Jenčík a dcery. A.s. Together with the company stock Plzeň- Božkov and L'OR special drinks s.r.o., Today in Prádlo three spirits company resident.

Community structure

The municipality Prádlo the district Novotníky heard ( Nowotnik ) and the monolayer Chvostule, Dubeč, Vovčín, Za Vodou and Zájezek.

Attractions

  • The Church of the Holy Cross was built as a collection of Gothic architecture in the 13th century under the patronage of the monastery Pomuk and damaged during the Hussite Wars. Later she received a redesign and a baroque tower cultivation. 1882, a further upgrade which also extended the nave and the tower has been increased.
  • Former magnificent courtyard with a disused built from the old distillery Festivals
  • Built in the Baroque and classical style homestead Dubeč from 1790 is located two kilometers north-east of Prádlo. The estate, including the associated derelict land to be developed into agro-tourism center of the region.
  • Memorial to an American pilot, at the crash site in 1944, northwest of Dubeč
