Province of Massa and Carrara

The province of Massa- Carrara ( Italien. Provincia di Massa- Carrara) is the northernmost province of the Italian region of Tuscany with its capital Massa. It has 199 330 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012), living in 17 municipalities covering an area of 1,156 km ². It is bordered to the west by the Tyrrhenian Sea and Liguria ( La Spezia ), on the north by Emilia -Romagna ( Parma and Reggio Emilia Province) and on the east by the province of Lucca. From 1938 to 1946, the province Apuania said.
