The remaining part of the word allegedly goes back to a man named Meingotz. But this is probably a mistake; Menger Reuth is not as old as Pullenreuth ( Middle High German: Pulnruit ). Accordingly, the name Menger Reuth to the noble family of the Menger Reuther go back ( Menger settlement near pastures Mountain in Franconia ), who earned 1407 base in Riglasreuth and built a castle there. However, they possessed in Pullenreuth only the area right of the hard stream; henceforth called this part Menger Reuth, the other Dechantsees.

Religions

The bottle Reuther population committed almost exclusively to the Roman Catholic Church. The first Catholic Church in Pullenreuth probably stood in the 11th century. This medieval church was destroyed about the year 1453 by the Hussites in 1505 and probably rebuilt. The Thirty Years' War came to the house of God with pretty, so it than that designated by the then pastor " poorest on the road to Nuremberg ." 1668 Pullenreuth became a separate parish. In 1738 Pastor Johann Friedrich Forster turned to the electoral government in Amberg, however, in vain. On March 9, 1749 believers heard during the service a crack in the wall and stormed out of the church, for fear they might collapse. The people on the balcony escaped even from the windows. A few days later, the church actually crashed a. Because of this event, funds were finally freed, so that the church could be demolished in April 1749. On August 14, 1749 began with the construction of the new church, which was completed in 1751. However, it lacked benches, high altar and floor covering. 1769 bought you a high altar.
