Radkovice (Plzeň-South District)

Radkovice ( German Radkowitz ) is a municipality with a population of 89 in the Czech Republic. It is located four kilometers southeast of Prestice and belongs to Okres Plzeň -jih. The land area is 332 ha

Geography

The place is located at 387 m above sea level. M. in the valley of Zlatý creek between two wooded hills, the Skala (542 m) in the south and the Jindřín (535 m ) in the west.

Neighboring towns are Kucíny in the north, Dolce in the east, Vitouň in the south, southwest, and Příchovice Zálesí in the northwest.

History

Radkovice was in 1379 as belonging to the castle Skala festivals first mentioned. After the acquisition by Heralt Kavkov Říčan of the property has been connected to the rule Švihov. 1603 acquired Friedrich Švihovský of Riesenberg Radkovice together with Kucíny and the desert castle Skály. After Baron Henninger had acquired from Seeberg at the end of the 17th century the property, the connection was made to the basic rule Horšice. With the sale to the Count Schönborn Radkowitz was in 1716 part of the rule Příchovice.

After the replacement of patrimonial Radkovice in 1850 an independent village.
