Râmeț

Ramet (deprecated ramet; Einsiedel German, Hungarian Remete ) is a town in Alba county in Transylvania, Romania.

The place is also known under the old Romanian names and Rîmeţi Rimet.

Geographical location

Ramet is located in Trascău Mountains in western Transylvania. ( Judetean Drum ) On the county road DJ 107i, the place is located about 20 kilometers west of the nearest town Aiud (Strasbourg Mures ); the county capital Alba Julia ( Charles Castle ) is located approximately 50 kilometers to the south. Ramet is part of the historic Pimp country.

History

The place was first mentioned in 1441 under the name Remete. He has since been dominated by agriculture, but mainly by grazing.
