Rene Bourque

René Bourque ( born December 10, 1981 in Lac La Biche, Alberta ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is since January 2012 the Montreal Canadiens in the National Hockey League contract.

Career

René Bourque began his career as a hockey player in 2000 in ice hockey team from the University of Wisconsin- Madison, the Wisconsin Badgers in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association. After four years Bourque left the university team and signed on 29 July 2004 a contract with the NHL club Chicago Blackhawks, without having been previously ever drafted. For the season 2004/ 05, during the lockout in the NHL, Bourque received a contract with the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League, the former farm team in Chicago. For the Admirals, he played in his first professional season in 78 games and reached the playoffs with his team. With 33 goals this season Bourque made ​​for a franchise record. In addition, he was able to contribute 27 assists.

In the following three seasons, Bourque was a regular player in the National Hockey League for Chicago. Only in the 2006/07 season he played again in the AHL for the Admirals. On 1 July 2008 Bourque was given in exchange for a future option at an NHL Entry Draft by the Calgary Flames.

12 January 2012 it transferred the Flames with Patrick Holland and a second-round vote in the NHL Entry Draft in 2013 in exchange for Michael Cammalleri, the rights to goalie Karri Rämö and a fifth- round vote in the NHL Entry Draft in 2012 to the Montreal Canadiens.
