Riedbach

Ried is a municipality in the district of Lower Franconia Haßberge and a member of the administrative community Hofheim in francs. The community name originated in the local government reform in 1978 with respect to the stream Ried stream which runs through the municipality. The community itself consists of the places Humprechtshausen, Small Münster, Small Steinach, Kreuzthal and Mechenried.

Geography

Geographical Location

Riedbachstraße lies in the region Main- Rhön in the "Lower Haßgau " of the district Haßberge on the southwestern edge of the Natural Park Haßberge. Humprechtshausen, Small Steinach and Mechenried lie in the valley of Ried stream.

History

As part of the Bishopric of Würzburg, which belonged to the Frankish Empire Circle from 1500, most of the present-day municipality is 1803 1805 Archduke Ferdinand of Tuscany was secularized in Bavaria's favor and the Peace of Pressburg left to form the Grand Duchy of Würzburg. In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria emerged with the community of 1818 the independent communities of small Münster, Small Steinach, Mechenried and Humprechtshausen with their district Kreuzthal.

Since at least the 15th century, Jewish families were resident in the district of Klein Steinach. In the heyday of the Jewish community around 159 Jews were counted in 1800 in small Steinach, which corresponds to a share of the population of 41 percent. They formed their own Jewish community and set up next to a synagogue and a Jewish school in town. Both buildings were destroyed during the pogrom of November 1938 by SA men. Plaques on house number 89 ( former synagogue ) and No. 47 (today's Protestant church home ) remember this story. The Jewish cemetery received with over 1200 grave painting is a bit out of place and was created as a district cemetery in 1453, the first recorded burial took place in 1596, the last in 1942.

Key assignments - PAYG contributions - property taxes

The Parish key assignment by the Free State of Bavaria for Riedbachstraße as compensation for financial envelope for the year 2009 amounted to EUR 563 016.
