Roman Catholic Diocese of Galway, Kilmacduagh and Kilfenora

The Diocese of Galway, Kilfenora Kilmacduagh and ( ir: Deoise na Gaillimhe, Chill Mhic agus Dhuach Chill Fhionnúrach, Latin: Dioecesis Galviensis, Duacensis et Finaborensis ) is a location in Ireland Roman Catholic diocese based in Galway.

History

The Diocese of Galway was born on April 26, 1831 by Pope Gregory XVI. built with the Apostolic Constitution and the Archdiocese of Tuam SEDIUM Episcopalium a suffragan. Previously Galway was canonically self-employed since 1484 and managed by a Warden and eight vicars. On June 5, 1883 the diocese of Galway was the bishopric of Kilfenora Kilmacduagh and attached. The dioceses of Kilfenora Kilmacduagh and were built in 1132 at the Synod of Kells in 1751 and united. Both dioceses lie in different ecclesiastical provinces ( Kilmacduagh in Tuam, Kilfenora in Cashel ), so that the seat of the bishop and the bishop moved managed the other of diocese as Apostolic Administrator respectively. Since 1883, the Bishop of Galway and Kilmacduagh is resistant Apostolic Administrator for the Diocese of Kilfenora former.
