Martin Drennan

Martin Drennan ( born January 2, 1944 in Piltown, County Kilkenny) is a Roman Catholic bishop in Ireland.

Life

Drennan studied Roman Catholic theology in Maynooth and the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome and was ordained on July 16, 1968 for the Diocese of Ossory priest.

On 28 May 1997 Drennan was appointed by Pope John Paul II appointed auxiliary bishop in the Archdiocese of Dublin and Titular Bishop of Aquae Regiae. The bishop He was ordained on 21 September of the same year by the Archbishop of Dublin, Desmond Connell; Co-consecrators were the Apostolic Nuncio to Ireland, Luciano Storero, and the Bishop of Ossory, Laurence Forristal.

On 23 May 2005 Bishop Drennan of Galway and Kilmacduagh and Apostolic Administrator of Kilfenora. Drennan is the successor of Bishop James McLoughlin in Galway.
