Liam MacDaid

Liam Seán MacDaid ( born July 19, 1945 in Bundoran, County Donegal) is a Roman Catholic bishop in Ireland.

Life

MacDaid visited the St Louis Infant School and St Macartan 's National School in Bundoran, and the St Macartan 's College in Monaghan. Then he studied from 1962 as a seminarian at St Patrick 's College in Maynooth.

On June 15, 1969 MacDaid was ordained a priest. After that he received in 1970 at the National University of Ireland, Maynooth a Diploma in Higher Education and began on St Macartan 's College to teach. From 1981 to 1989 he was president of the St Macartan 's College. From 1988 to 1996 he served as Chairman of the Council of Priests of the Diocese of Clogher.

MacDaid was on 6 May 2010 to the bishop of the diocese of Clogher by Pope Benedict XVI. appointed. He received his episcopal consecration of the Archbishop of Armagh, Cardinal Seán Baptist Brady; Were co-consecrators Noel Treanor, Bishop of Down and Connor, and MacDaids predecessor Joseph Duffy.
