Michael Neary (bishop)

Michael Neary ( born April 15, 1946 in Castlebar, County Mayo ) is a Roman Catholic Archbishop of Tuam in Ireland.

Life

After leaving school in Castlebar on St. Patrick's National School and St. Jarlath 's College in Tuam Neary studied at St. Patrick 's College, Maynooth theology. Neary was consecrated on 15 June 1971 for the Roman Catholic priest. In 1975 he became Doctor of Roman Catholic theology. From 1978 to 1981 Neary studied in Rome. On 20 May 1992 Neary was ordained as Titular Bishop of Quaestoriana auxiliary bishop in the Archdiocese of Tuam and on 17 January 1995 on the Archbishop of this Diocese.
