Ruderatshofen is a municipality in the Swabian district Ostallgaeu and a member of the administrative community Biessenhofen.

Geography
Ruderatshofen lies in the Allgäu region. There are the following districts: Apple Trang and Ruderatshofen. Other districts are Elbsee, Geisenhofen, Heimenhofen, Hiemenhofen, Immenhofen and Leichertshofen.
History
The town was first mentioned in 839 as a place in Keltensteingau as " Hruodoldishoua ". Ruderatshofen belonged to the Bishopric of Augsburg. With the Imperial Diet of 1803 the city became part of Bavaria. In the course of administrative reform in the Kingdom of Bavaria was born with the congregation of 1818, the current community.
Religions
In the center of Ruderatshofen is the parish church of St. James, in the Gothic style, as well as in Apple Trang St. Michael's church with a Baroque interior.
Incorporations
On 1 May 1978, until then independent municipality apple Trang was incorporated.
Spin-offs
On January 1, 1982, the apple Tranger district Wenglingen solved by referendum of the community and was ceded to the community Aitrang.

Others
It is the custom of the knock tags in Ruderatshofen. The children of the place to go, mostly of primary school age, on the Thursday before the first Advent of house to house to announce the upcoming Christmas season. As gifts for the recitation of the traditional award, children receive sweets. The custom is observed only in Ruderatshofen itself, in the other districts it is now extinct. Except for the children themselves, this custom is particularly popular with the older people of the village who are reminded of their own childhood and can take a little contact with the children of the village.
