Rudy Poeschek

Rudolph Leopold Pöschek ( born September 29, 1966 in Terrace, British Columbia ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player. During his career, the defender between 1987 and 2000 for the New York Rangers, Winnipeg Jets, Tampa Bay Lightning and St. Louis Blues played in the National Hockey League.

Career

The New York Rangers secured the rights to Pöschek in the twelfth round at 238 point NHL Entry Draft in 1985. He played three years for the Kamloops Blazers of the Western Hockey League, where he established himself as stubborn Enforcer. In the season 1987/88 Pöschek played his first game with the Rangers. The following season, he completed 52 games with the Rangers, and finished it with 199 penalty minutes.

Even before the 1993/94 season took him to Tampa Bay Lightning under contract. Pöschek played four seasons with Lightning before he was hired by the St. Louis Blues. He played there for a year and in some cases further two years. One season he played with the Houston Aeros of the IHL before retiring after the 2000/ 01 season from the active sports.
