Denver Rangers

The Colorado / Denver Rangers were an American ice hockey franchise in the International Hockey League from Denver, Colorado.

History

The Indianapolis Checkers in 1987 from Indianapolis, Indiana, to Denver, Colorado, relocated and renamed the Colorado Rangers. It was named the team because of their cooperation with the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League. Equal in their first season, the team was able to reach the playoffs and was eliminated first from the second round. For the season 1988/89 the name of the franchise has changed in Denver Rangers. Although the team from Colorado once again reached the playoffs, however, different from already in round 1. Following this season, the franchise was to Phoenix, Arizona, resettled, where it henceforth participated under the name Phoenix Roadrunners of the game operation of the International Hockey League.
