OHA Senior A League (1951 - 1954)

The Sarnia Sailors were a Canadian ice hockey franchise in the International Hockey League from Sarnia, Ontario. The venue of the Sailors was the Sarnia Arena.

History

The Sarnia Sailors were founded in 1949 and from then on played in the International Hockey League. Already in its first season, the Sailors were able to reach the play-off final of the Championship of the IHL. However, this was lost. The club had another season in the IHL active before moving in 1951 to the OHA Senior A League and played there until 1954. In the summer of 1954 the club was, after a disappointing season 1953/54, in which the Sailors were able to get only eleven points after the Main Round, resolved.
