Ryan Semple (skier)

Ryan Semple ( born October 21, 1982 in Montreal, Quebec ) is a former Canadian alpine skier, who was especially successful in the disciplines of slalom and super-combined, at first in the giant slalom. He won in the 2004/05 season the giant slalom in Nor- Am Cup rating, drove in the World Cup three times in the top 20, and participated in three World Cups and two Olympic Winter Games.

Biography

Semple learned to ski at the age of three years and won his first race at age six. From the age of eleven years he coached at the Mont Tremblant Ski Club. He played the first FIS race in December 1997 and from February 1998 was followed by single -offs in the Nor- Am Cup. As of January 2000, he started working regularly in the North American racing series and posted on 9 March 2000 his first podium in the slalom at Osler Bluff. In the same year he was inducted into the Canadian National Team.

On 10 December 2001 Semple his debut in the slalom at Madonna di Campiglio in the World Cup. However, he dropped out in the first round, and scored in his few other World Cup starts in the next few years no countable income. The next place on the podium in the Nor- Am Cup he succeeded on 5 January 2003 at the slalom in Sunday River, which he won in the 2002/03 season ranked seventh in the slalom standings. In the season 2011/12 Semple again participated in Nor -Am Cup and World Cup race until he came hard on the descent of the super combined in Wengen on January 13, 2012 to fall. He denied then no longer race and announced his resignation in October 2012.
