Sanma is a province in the northwest of the South Pacific island nation of Vanuatu. The region is east of the island of Espiritu Santo, with 3955.5 km ² of land area, the largest island of Vanuatu, the smaller island of Malo as well as some islands in front of Espiritu Santo. The province is bordered on the north by the counting also to Vanuatu Torba Province, on the east by Penama and on the south by Malampa.
As with all ( of the six ) Provinces of Vanuatu is derived the name from the names of Sanma located in the area major islands or island groups, from here ( Espiritu ) Santo and Malo, from.
The province is home to a land area of 4248 km ² approximately 36,000 people, of which the majority live on Espiritu Santo. On this island there is also the provincial capital Luganville.
