History

Schaufling was settled from the nearby monastery Niederaltaich and first documented in 1298. The place belonged to Rentamt Straubing and the district court Hengersberg of the Electorate of Bavaria. Largest landowner was until 1803 the monastery Niederaltaich. In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria, was born with the congregation of 1818 the municipality Nadling ( as of August 17, 1937 Schaufling ). The present municipality was created on 1 April 1971 from the former municipality Schaufling and the northern part of the former municipality Urlading.
