History

The first mention of Grattersdorf was in 1209, when the brothers Ulrich and Poppo de Gradinsdorf were called as witnesses. The place at that time belonged to the Counts of Grattersdorf neck. Since 1451 he formed a closed Hofmark in the Electorate of Bavaria, whose seat was Grattersdorf.

Owner of the Hofmark were after the extinction of Gradinsdorfer the Lords of winemakers, where in 1506 the Puchberger followed. In the map of Philipp Apian in 1568, the place is registered as Grederstorff. Veit Puchberg was here from 1536 to 1539 built the church of St. Giles. The 17th and 18th century brought several changes of ownership in Grattersdorf, recently it belonged to the Barons of Vequel. The other towns in the church today belonged mostly to the monastery Niederaltaich, partly to the monastery Osterhofen and pen Obermünster. Around the year 1728 Grattersdorf received a school.
