Seevetal

Seevetal is an independent municipality in the district of Harburg, in Lower Saxony. It is named after the Seeve. Seevetal is the most populous municipality in Germany without municipal law and the largest municipality in the district of Harburg.

Geography

Seevetal is located directly adjacent to the south of Hamburg, about 20 kilometers away from downtown, east of the Harburg Hills. The northern parts of municipalities Bullenhausen and located along the southern bank of the Elbe Over.

History

Seevetal was formed on July 1, 1972 through the merger of formerly 19 independent municipalities. Seevetal is characterized by different parts of municipalities with small-town milieu or with village character. The 19 community members are:

Most Seevetaler have the German nationality ( 95.63 %), the remaining Seevetaler have a foreign nationality ( 4.37% ).

Mayoress

On October 6, 2013 Martina Oertzen (CDU ) was elected to full-time mayor of the municipality Seevetal.

Parish council

The Council of the Municipality Seevetal has 41 members. 40 of the members are volunteers and are elected in the municipal election; the 41st member is the full-time mayor.

Twinning

Seevetal maintains a partnership with the U.S. city of Decatur, Illinois. Decatur has about 90,000 inhabitants and is located about 300 km south of Chicago and about 60 km east of Springfield, the capital of Illinois.

Transport links

Seevetal is conveniently located. So have the districts mesh (A 39), Hittfeld (A 1), and Fleestedt Ramelsloh (A 7) motorway junctions. At the named after the town of Horst Autobahndreieck " Horster triangle" meet the A 7 and A 1, A 1 and A 39 intersect at the " Maschener cross." However, many roads also act landschaftszerschneidend.

Also public transport Seevetal is mostly well connected. Seevetal is located in the tariff area of the HVV and has three railway stations: Hittfeld on the route Hamburg - Harburg - Buchholz - Tostedt ( which further leads in the direction of Bremen ); Meckelfeld and mesh on the route Hamburg - Harburg - Winsen - Lüneburg ( which continues in direction Hannover). Trains run hourly basis and are operated by the metronom Railroad Company, Inc. with electric locomotives and double-decker cars. In mesh is the Maschener marshalling yard since 1977, the large marshalling yard in Europe. Between 2002 and 2010 all three stations were redesigned in the context of artistic actions of the city Seevetal to Colorful stations.

The districts Fleestedt ( line 14) and Meckelfeld (lines 141, 443 ) are connected to the city bus network of the Hamburg High Bahn AG (usually 20 minutes). Individual city buses ( line 143 ) run by Beckedorf and Woxdorf and Großmoor (249 ). The remaining districts are served by buses, the CCG Stade. The main lines lead from Hamburg -Harburg on Hittfeld to Hanstedt ( 4148 ) and after Bullenhausen -over (149). The southeast of the village is accessible from Harburg by changing in mesh or Hittfeld. The connections to the center Hittfeld are inadequate from the north- east of the district. No direct public transport connection have smaller places like Eddelsen, Plumühlen, Hörsten and Fries Werder Moor.
