Shannon Larkin

Shannon Larkin ( born April 24, 1967 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American drummer who was best known for his membership in the band Godsmack. Previously he played for Amen, Candlebox, Ugly Kid Joe, and Souls at Zero ( and its predecessor Wrathchild America ). He is also active as a session drummer, such as for Vanilla Ice.

Career

Shannon Larkin began at the age of ten years playing drums. His parents were music lovers and introduced him to the music of the Beatles, Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix and The Who. Through his sister he met Rush album Hemispheres know and heard the music of Led Zeppelin, which he wanted to play drums.

With his first major label band Wratchild America, the first Wrathchild called himself only, he released two albums in 1989 and 1991, two more in 1993 and 1994 with Souls at Zero. Larkin became a member of Ugly Kid Joe in port. From a side project called MF Pitbulls, the band Snot was formed, whose drummer Jamie Miller later played again with Souls at Zero. Larkin had recommended him. Later Miller Larkin recommended again at Snot with which Larkin so later, the tribute album Strait Up grossed.

2002 called Sully Erna of Godsmack Shannon Larkin. Larkin then replaced Tommy Stewart in the band and took until today four studio albums with her. Since 2010, Shannon Larkin is again a member of the newly formed Ugly Kid Joe.

In addition, Larkin was briefly worked for Stone Sour. Even with Black Sabbath, he played helping out at Ozzfest 1997.
