Spirit of Burgas
Spirit of Burgas is an annual summer music festival in the city of Burgas, located on the Black Sea coast of Bulgaria. The music festival is designed for international and Bulgarian music and is the only one of its kind in Bulgaria.
The first edition of the festival took place from 15 to 17 August 2008 with the support of MTV Europe instead. Here were artists such as The Sisters of Mercy, Hot Club de Paris (August 15 ), Asian Dub Foundation, Pharoahe Monch and Upsurt (August 16 ), Cradle of Filth, Kosheen and Bonobo on the big stage. In addition to the main stage there was still more for dance, rock and Latin music and a DJ stage, where occurred more well-known and emerging artists alike. Among the best known artists, which occurred outside the big stage, included Chris Liebing, Andy Cato of Groove Armada, King Roc by Ministry of Sound, Pendulum, Wickeda and Deep Zone Project.
The second edition of Spirit of Burgas was held until August 16, 2009 by the 14th. During the three days were on the main stage, Faith No More, Fun Lovin 'Criminals, The Crystal Method, Clawfinger, Dreadzone, LTJ Bukem, De Phazz, Sub Focus, Alexander Kowalski, Speedy J, Mario Ranieri, as well as the emerging Australian alternative rock band The Monicans on. As part of a project of the Dutch Ministry of Education more than 100 Dutch DJ -s occurred on a single stage.
In 2009, for the first time established a jazz and blues stage and a camping area for tents 1000 visitors.
The third edition was held to 15 August 2010 from 13. Those days on the main stage The Prodigy, Gorillaz, Apollo 440, Serj Tankian, HMSU DJS, Grandmaster Flash, Solardip, DJ Shadow, UNKLE and Andy C feat. MC GQ on. Participation of Everlast said the musician at the last moment due to illness.
2011, the fourth edition from 12th to 14th of August, among others, Moby, Skunk Anansie and Deftones.
In 2012, the organizers have announced some of the participants for the Spirit of Burgas 2012. Thus, during the fifth edition of August 3 to 5, among others, KORN, Tinie Tempah, Busta Rhymes, Armin Van Buuren, Mark Knight, Chase & Status, Richie Hawtin and Dubfire participate.
The festival site is located in the southern part of the central city beach in Burgas and the Sea Garden near the harbor entrance. On the implementation of Spirit of Burgas next MTV Europe still Tuborg, Mobile, Jack Daniel's, Jacobs, DSK Bank and other partners and sponsors are involved.
