Srinagarindra District

Amphoe Srinagarindra ( Thai: อำเภอ ศรีนครินทร์ ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the province of Phatthalung. The Phatthalung Province is located in the southern region of Thailand, about 840 kilometers south of Bangkok on the Malay Peninsula.

Geography

Neighboring districts and areas (from north clockwise): Amphoe Si the Banphot, Khuan Khanun, Mueang Phatthalung and Kong Ra in the province of Phatthalung Amphoe Yan Ta Khao, and Na Yong and in the province of Trang.

History

Srinagarindra was on 26 June 1996 initially as a sub-district ( King Amphoe ) was established by the area of ​​today's Amphoe Mueang district of Phatthalung was separated. The new district was officially opened on July 15. He was first called Chumphon after the central tambon, on December 30, 1996, he was however renamed Srinagarindra. ( The name is said to Sri Nagarindra ( Thai: remember ศรี น ค ริน ท รา ), the mother of the present King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX), who died on 18 July 1995 at the age of 94 years.. )

On 15 May 2007, the Thai government had decided that all 81 King Amphoe to rise in the simple Amphoe status to unify the administration. With the publication in the Royal Gazette " Issue 124 chapter 46" of 24 August 2007, this decision officially entered into force.

Management

Amphoe Srinagarindra is divided into four subdistricts ( tambon), which continued in 42 village communities ( Muban ) are divided.

There are also four " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
