Sunnmøre

Sunnmøre (South- Møre ) is the southern coastal region in the Norwegian Fylke Møre og Romsdal. To Sunnmøre region include the 17 municipalities Giske, Hareid, Herøy Norddal, Sands, Skodje, Haram, Stordal, Stranda, Sula, Sykkylven, Ulstein, Vanylven, Volda, Ørskog, Ørsta and Ålesund. Capital of the region is the Art Nouveau town of Ålesund.

The Sunnmøre region covers a land area of ​​5215 km ² and has 131,002 inhabitants (July 1, 2008).
