Swimming at the 2012 Summer Olympics – Men's marathon 10 kilometre

The 10 km open water swimming the men at the 2012 Olympics in London was held on 10 August 2012 at the Serpentine Lake in Hyde Park. 25 athletes took part.

The race was held in a final run.

Qualification criteria

For the competition, 25 athletes had qualified:

• Ten swimmers who occupied the first ten places at the World Swimming Championships 2011 in Shanghai
• Nine swimmers the qualifying competition of Setúbal (Portugal ) on 8/9 June 2012 took the top nine places
• Five swimmers who represented the five continental associations of FINA and which were determined by their placement in the qualifying competition of Setúbal
• A float from the host nation
