Tabaco

Tabaco ( officially: City of Tabaco ) is a Philippine city in the province of Albay. The part of Tabaco City, which lies on the mainland adjacent to Malinao to the north, Polangui and Oas to the west, Ligao City to the southwest, to the Mayon Volcano in the south, Malilipot the southeast, and the Gulf of Lagonoy in the east. Tabaco City to the island of San Miguel heard she is the most north-westerly of the four main islands of the province of Albay in the Gulf of Lagonoy and is located east of the city. Two barangays of the city lie on Cagraray Iceland. The Mayon Volcano dominates the town in the south.

Economy

Tabaco City used to be the economic capital of the province of Albay. The economy is still heavily dependent on agriculture. Most important cash crops are rice, corn, root crops, vegetables, coconuts and abaca. Poultry and pig rearing and fishing are the main industries. From natural port of Tabaco operate ferries Inselbarangays on San Miguel Iceland and there is a ferry service to the province of Catanduanes.

Tourism

From the city of Tabaco, you can drive up the northern slope of Mayon volcano to about 800 m above sea level. The city has recently launched the annual festival called tobacco to commemorate the city survey on 24 March 2001. To protect the natural environment around the volcano of Mayon Volcano National Park was established in 2000. On the slopes of Mayon Mayon Planetarium and Science Park was built in about 800 meters above sea level.
