Takhtamukay

Tachtamukai (Russian Тахтамукай; Adyghe Тэхъутэмыкъуай ) is a Aul in the Republic of Adygea (Russia) with 5214 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ).

Geography

The village is located about 100 km as the crow northwest of the Republic capital Maikop and just 15 km south of the center of Krasnodar, the center of the neighboring Krasnodar region, on the eastern shore of the small Oktjabrskoje dam of Sups, a left tributary of the few kilometers north -flowing Kuban.

Tachtamukai is the administrative seat of the Rajons Tachtamukaiski as well as the seat of the rural community Tachtamukaiskoje selskoje posselenije belong to the non- Tachtamukai nor the Aul Natuchai, settlements Otradny, Prikubanski and Sups and the hamlet ( Chutor ) Apostolidi.

History

The Aul was founded in 1860 and was first called to 1870 Enemski or Enem - Tachtamukai. Traffic
