The Adventures of Pete & Pete

Pete & Pete is produced in the U.S. television series that was erstausgestrahlt between 1995 and 1998 on the German offshoot of the television channel Nickelodeon. The series revolved around the two brothers, Pete and Pete, the experience often surreal and bizarre adventures in the small American town of Wellsville. The main emphasis here is actually everyday situations. After the first start of Nickelodeon on German television in 1998 has been set, the series took place only in 2001 on the pay- TV channel Junior ( premiere) a new time slot, which remained her condition until 2002. 2007, some episodes have been temporarily aired on Nick and repeated in 2008 on the program window Nick after eight.

Originally launched the series as a series of one-minute Short Clips in 1989, which were broadcast between the actual television program. Due to their high popularity almost five half-hour specials were filmed, of which up to 1993 a series of three seasons grew.

Characters

The family

( The Elder) Pete Wrigley (Mike Maronna ) is the main narrator of the series and often takes on the role of reason against his often strange environment. His best friend is his brother. In the German version speaks Kim Hasper Pete.

( The Younger ) Pete Wrigley (Danny Tamberelli ) is four years younger than his brother, leaning often on the rules of the adult world. Usually he is rude and speaks with a very deep voice. On his arm he has a tattoo named " Petunia ", depicting a woman in red dress ( is the initial title called separately), and on his back a of a sailboat.

Both brothers carry the name " Pete " because the parents did not discriminate against the brothers.

Joyce Wrigley ( Judy Grafe ) is the mother of the family and has since childhood, a metal plate in her head, with which it can receive radio programs. Also this board is mentioned in the beginning titles individually. The profession of Joyce seems to be a housewife. Synchronizes it is in Germany by Kerstin Sanders- Dornseif.

Don Wrigley ( Hardy Rawls ) has met his wife on the beach when he was traveling with a metal detector, which leapt on their plate in his head. Himself he considers to be the best driver in the world, the "King of the Road". He also loves his lawn and operates a golf driving range.

Friends

Artie, the Strongest Man in the World ( Toby Huss ) is the personal super hero of the younger Pete and accomplishing special feats, such as the transferral of houses.

Theodore " Teddy" L. Forzman (Dave Martel ) is one of the best friends of the older Pete. He's almost always in a good mood.

Ellen Josephine Hickle ( Alison Fanelli ) is the best friend of the older Pete. Although there are romantic moments between the two, for him it is " a girl, a friend, but not his girlfriend ."

Bill grain (Rick Barbarette ) is a friend of the elder Pete, who loves jokes and sarcasm.

Nona F. Mecklenberg ( Michelle Trachtenberg ) is the neighbor of the Wrigley and very good friends with the younger Pete. She has constantly a cast on her arm, but not because it was broken, but because it itches so beautiful under the plaster. Now and then she falls in love even in the younger Pete. Her father is played by Iggy Pop.

Monica Perling ( Maris Hudson) is Girl Scout with a passion. She always has bad luck with pets and is therefore for everyone who loses a pet.

Wayne Pardue (Justin Restivo ) most is pretty much on the nerves, but is still a friend of the younger Petes.

Handlungsort

Almost all sequences play in the fictional American town Wellsville, which is modeled typical small town America.

The first two seasons of the series were filmed at various locations in New Jersey. School scenes are from Bayonne, the neighborhood scene were filmed in South Orange and Leonia. During the filming of the episode Never Again Halloween in season 2 addressed the team on the streets of South Orange so much chaos that the city banned the film crew. Then the shooting in Cranford, New Jersey, were continued.

Music

The soundtrack of Pete & Pete consisted of songs of many different independent and underground musicians. Bands like Apples in Stereo, Chug, Magnetic Fields, Luscious Jackson, Racecar and The 6ths steered their songs in which were used either as background music or special moments with painted (eg: Chugs "Flowers" during the " Wrigley 500" race ). However, most music was written by the band Polaris. Polaris consisted of three members of Mark Mulcahy's band Miracle Legion ( Ray Neal is currently taking a break ). 1999 appeared a Polaris album that contains 12 songs, including the theme song of the series, "Hey Sandy".
