The Crow, the Owl and the Dove is a song by Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish. It is the second single from her seventh studio album Imaginaerum.

Formation

The music was written by bassist Marco Hietala on an acoustic guitar. In a backstage room in Moscow, he played the keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen his idea. Marcel Rapp from the online magazine Powermetal.de described The Crow, the Owl and the Dove in his review as " wonderful duet " between Anette Olzon and Marco Hietala. According to the reviewers J. G. from the online magazine HardHarderHeavy.de " convinced the song with folk elements and acoustic guitars " and praised the " highest level offered vocal performances ." The reviewer from The Wendigo online magazine whiskey soda.de however, described the song as " cheesy embarrassment ".

The single reached number one on the Finnish singles chart and was able to place a total of three weeks. Outside Finland, the single reached number 82 in Germany the Media Control Charts.
