Occupation

The Mystery of Time is the sixth studio album by the German metal opera Avantasia. It was published on 29 March 2013. For the first time this time was working with the German Film Orchestra Babelsberg.

History

Although Tobias Sammet described the tour of Avantasia in 2008 as a unique, it was the end of 2010 again a short tour. This was intended, according to Tobias Sammet for it to complete the project Avantasia. For this one last concert at the Wacken Open Air was held in August 2011. On the 7th of August of 2012, almost exactly a year after the Wacken gig Tobias Sammet announced in a statement on its website, not to finish the project. Instead, it 'll be a new album in 2013. He said:

"Even though my recordings and tours with Edguy basically prepare great fun, taken at that time was with my decision AVANTASIA thing to stop until further notice, no telling how much I need this project for my inner balance. After the last studio album and the excellent global resonance, which is almost everywhere sold out subsequent world tour and the collaboration with the heroes of my childhood, like Alice Cooper, Klaus Meine, Rudolf Schenker, Eric Singer of Kiss, etc. I was initially sure that I in the recent years everybody had said what there is to say on behalf of Avantasia. But that's me with AVANTASIA not really. I just want to make great music in conjunction with fantasy worlds, and make it best even bigger and better. And when I hear what I have so far to song material, then I know that the decision to open a new chapter with AVANTASIA, is the only logical conclusion! I have a feeling that must be!

Review and success

In January, there was already the first audition for a music critic.

Burnyourears.de wrote "Angel Of Babylon " and " The Wicked Symphony " possessed despite their class in retrospect a few lengths that you can not even see with the largest magnifying glass on " The Mystery Of Time". The production, the artwork, the lyrics, the performance of all musicians and singers, and especially the elaborate, still fresh mix of Power Metal, Melodic Metal, Melodic rock and a good dose of bombast and epic take it easily with the best moments of the past AVANTASIA history. and gave the album 10 out of 10 stars.

Where Musikreview.de wrote " The Mystery Of Time" is qualitatively classified in the discography of AVANTASIA, can be after a run of course not say. What is clear is that the album has to offer, what the inclined fan expected, but major surprises inevitable. The real orchestra makes for a livelier sound and generally has sought to find a basic production - as far as possible just in this music. In addition, two other musicians were mentioned in the articles: Ferdy Doernberg Axel Rudi Pell and Oliver Hartmann.

Cdstarts.de wrote The celebrated by Avantasia -Cast AOR is shockingly honest, assembled according to the book and makes any event character of yesteryear miss. Although the first real existing orchestra makes for a more organic sound than ever before, but the ten compositions saves only conditionally. It almost seems as if Master Sammet out of ideas and gave the album four out of a possible 10 stars.

On April 9, 2013, the first chart positions were announced on the homepage of Avantasia.
