Occupation

The Who by Numbers is the seventh studio album by British rock band The Who. The 1975 released album was produced by Glyn Johns. The cover was drawn by the bassist of the band John Entwistle, who has worked at that time in the history of The Who in the form of a comic.

The album lacks the complex structure and the ambitiousness of the better known The- Who- Tommy and Quadrophenia works. The focus is rather on the songwriting of Pete Townshend, who grapples here with the issues of alcoholism, lust and self-loathing. Therefore, there is a dark mood throughout the album.

A special pressing of this album arrived in Italy on the Neon label, a subsidiary label of RCA out. The label showed on the A- side of the Birth of Venus by Sandro Botticelli.
